During the faraway 1960, in the heart of the Po valley, between the villages Leno and Bagnolo Mella, some milk farms owners decided to join together in a cooperative and created SOLAT.
Since over sixty years, SOLAT collects daily the best milk to transform it into Grana Padano cheese, PDO product (having Protected Designation of Origin) and real gastronomic excellence among the made in Italy products.

Today SOLAT is a well – established company in its sector, granting a strictly controlled production chain and extremely high quality standards, fully respecting the PDO Grana Padano procedural guidelines. Building a new production plant, more suitable to the current production needs, together with the incessant technological innovations, allowed us to increase the daily quantity of processable milk up to around 100 tons. The ageing process takes place in a specific environment-controlled warehouse situated in our premises, where humidity and temperature levels are continuously checked and monitored.
Our PDO Grana Padano cheese wheels, aged from 10 to over 20 months, are perfect for wholesale or to be processed further in different formats and cuts in private label.
SOLAT’S PREMISES COVER A 6.000 SM SURFACE INCLUDING PRODUCTION PLANT AND TWO WAREHOUSES FOR AGEING AND STORAGE SIZED 3.200 SM.
OUR STORAGE/AGEING WHAREHOUSES CAN CONTAIN UP TO 80.000 GRANA PADANO CHEESE WHEELS.
WE DO PRODUCE 65.000 GRANA PADANO CHEESE WHEELS YEARLY. ALL OF THEM ARE P.D.O. CERTIFIED AND AGED FROM 10 TO OVER 20 MONTHS.
